22'-24' TT with a dry weight around 5000#
Hello all,
I am new to the forum but I have browsed around a bit. I love how much info we have at our fingertips these days. Anyway, I have a question. I currently have a 19' Amerilite travel trailer that I bought last year. I honestly haven't been as impressed as I thought I would be on the reliability of the trailer and it has me thinking about what I want for my next one (probably either spring of 2014 or 2015 depending on how antsy I get). I know I want to go a little longer and I know I want to increase my sleeping capability to 6. I originally pulled this with a 2010 4Runner, but I started getting nervous about pulling at all of my max ratings and recently bought a 2013 Tundra Crewmax 4X4, with the 5.7L V8. Pulls the Amerilite no problem and has a max tow rating of 9000 lbs. but am still limited by 1/2 ton payload capacity. Even though I see people towing 8k-10k lbs with Tundra's all the time, I don't have any intention of overloading the vehicle that way. I am thinking I would stay within all of my ratings with a dry weight trailer around 5000-5500 lbs. Any suggestions?
