Umm.. I guess that you have never traveled in a TC with 3 brothers, two sisters, parents and yourself?
Nope...but as a kid I did travel cross country with two brothers a step sister and a step brother in a station wagon pulling a small 2 bunk pop-up!:E
For my wife and daughters a vanity is a must - if you saw the amount of makeup, hair stuff, curling irons and blow driers you'd understand!:B. Could we get away with only one sink? I suppose, but it would not work well for us. And that is the whole point of building this trailer from the frame up...to have something that works best for us.
I had considered going with a single bowl in the kitchen, but we currently have a double bowl sink and we use one side to wash and one side to rinse so that we conserve water.
We started camping on our own when DD was only 2 yrs old, have taught her to leave a lot of stuff at home.. Traveling light is the name of the game and that goes for DD..
Guess I look at things a lot different than most modern day "campers".. Most modern day campers can't separate from home living, I can..
In reality DD bags everything up (makeup and personal items) and puts it away when she is done with it. Pretty much the same as home, our sticks and bricks does not have a large counter top in the bathroom (I intentionally designed it that way).
I grew up in a home with 1 and 1/2 baths, the full bath had a 8ft long vanity with two sinks.. It amounted to nothing more than a clutter catcher for all of my sisters stuff.. Always looked terrible. The 1/2 bath had no vanity, just a small sink hung on the wall.. It was neat, no space for counter "decorations"..
By designing a bathroom with a small vanity top in my sticks and bricks, I forced everyone to clean up when done.. and leave no clutter, any clutter left if found by me goes into the trash bin, no questions asked. Some would consider that cruel and unusual punishment but it IS my house and I grew up with a bunch of slobs.. I don't like living that way..
