This is true for the diesel 2500HD, but the gas 3/4 ton uses the AAM 10.5 axle where the Duramax versions use the 3500's AAM 11.5 axle.

As someone with a Duramax 3/4 ton with roughly 3000 lbs in the bed loaded for camping, I can't, in good conscience, say I think you'll be happy with that setup. But I will say you're going to need to beef up the spring pack and definitely go with 19.5's before you even try. Then there's the clearance issues with 19.5's. I upgraded to 265x75R16 and 16x8 3400lb wheels from the stock 16x7/245's and had just a bit of rubbing of the tire on the front fender liners. 19.5's will be an even larger diameter and you may need a slight front end lift to allow for clearance.
Edit: I believe the 10.5 is rated 8600 lbs while the 11.5 is rated 10,000 lbs.
