Didn't TFL do a back to back dyno test that showed the Ford and Chevy aren't really putting more power to the ground than the Ram? At least not as much more as they advertise? I'll have to rewatch it. I think all 3 are great trucks, I just thought it was very interesting.
I know dyno's are not the end all, but when you test 3 trucks back to back on the same dyno you should at least be able to compare the numbers.
EDIT:
2017 TFL Dyno Battle
I guess the Ford did put out 49 more horsepower in their test, but less torque.
I may be remembering wrong but I don't think the Ford has a 1:1 ratio in their transmission and I thought that has been an issue making comparisons off a chassis dyno.
But at some point all the info gets blurred together so maybe I am thinking of something else.
This is true, but I'm not sure how it affects dyno output. Does the torque output skew higher than it should be because it is in a 1.14:1 gear instead of 1:1?
I THINK the dyno operator can enter the gear ratio tested...otherwise a 4.10 truck would put out more torque than a 3.73 on the dyno, and that is not the case. I'm pretty sure you put in gear ratio and tire size as part of the dyno setup.
