You can see as good or better mileage pulling a big 5er compared to a smaller/lighter bumper pull simply due to the difference in aerodynamics.
I'll have to disagree with you on that one. A TT can have better aerodynamics than a 5er sticking way up in the sky. It comes down to frontal area. Wind is not your friend unless it's at your back.
Every time I run across a 'hotshot er' (the guys who haul trailers of all sizes across the continent) I ask em the question- which is better in the mileage dept.?the answer without hesitation, 5er is better,they don't even think about it.
