You can see as good or better mileage pulling a big 5er compared to a smaller/lighter bumper pull simply due to the difference in aerodynamics.
I'll have to disagree with you on that one. A TT can have better aerodynamics than a 5er sticking way up in the sky. It comes down to frontal area. Wind is not your friend unless it's at your back.
A TT sits way back from the TV where you now have two separate masses having to cut through the air. A 5er while taller sits so close to the truck it cuts through the air as a single mass resulting in less wind drag.
Go tow a heavy 5er some time and you'll see for yourself.
Based on the pic of your TT it looks very aerodynamic. In contrast I tow a 20ft bumper pull toyhauler with flipped axles and it's like pulling a parachute behind the truck.
