For the price of a properly equipped F150 you can buy a F250.
BTW - love my 3.5 EB.
In the real world (not MSRP) you can get an F250 for a ton less than a properly built up F150. An HD, max tow F150 is going to be pushing $40-45k, meanwhile you can get an F250 XLT for $28k if you shop around.
That's Bull ShiiiiT. I've shopped around plenty. The price difference for comparably equipped F150 vs. F250 is about ±$2,000 and will vary by incentives given in any particular month. That's comparing a 3.5 Ecoboost F150 with the heavy duty payload package (properly equipped F150) to a 6.2L V8 F250; feature for feature; same - same.
I can tell you right from the get go, a $45K F150 w/3.5 & HDPP is at least an XLT model, a $28K F250 is a bare bones, stripper model, zero options and add in the delivery fee and all bets are off on even $30K.
If your going to throw out comparisons, get real. Not this fake BS.
You're correct, it will be a stripped model, but you can't find a properly equipped F150 at the same price point, which was kinda my point. You can get an F250 that will do the job with plenty of margin for significantly less than the cheapest F150 that will do the job. If you need more than power windows/door locks/AC/cruise/tow haul mode then that's your choice but for me that's all I need out of a truck and I could get that in an F250 for cheaper than an F150 that' still less capable. To each their own.
Here's an HDPP F150 XLT.

Other than the 3.5 EB, Maxtow and HDPP option it hardly has any extras. No tow mirrors which is weird.
Cool, it costs a little more than my truck did new. To be fair trucks have gone up in price a fair amount in the last three years.
