Those smattering of votes are trying to tell you, if you are operating within its ratings, the F150 HD payload package, with 3.5 Ecoboost and 10 speed transmission is a better package then the 3/4 ton, especially if the truck is a daily driver and a sometimes towing. Now get a 3/4 ton with the 3.5 ecoboost and a 10 speed transmission and you'd have a real monster.
I would reverse this. The 3/4 ton is the real winner unless you only tow very little, like once or twice a year for a long weekend trip. If you only tow once or twice a year, then the 1/2 ton HDPP is acceptable.
In any of these, get the 3.5l EcoBoost if you can. It is a towing monster and the twin turbos means it loses very little power at altitude.
This is coming from someone who has a 1/2 ton WITHOUT the HDPP, but with the 3.5l Ecoboost. However, my trailer is 1/2 the weight of yours.
(And I am glad to see we didn't run you off.)
