3 regens in 300k

I own a 2017 f350 with 6.7. Love the beast.
Just noticed last weekend on a family trip that I drove about 300- 350 kilometers and had 3 regens. I know that shutting off or putting in park stops this cycle as I owned a 2012 for 5 years and intentionally tried to complete the regen.
Anyone encounter this? The first was at highway speeds and it completed for sure. A bit miffed?

    If I'm going city driving when a regen happens, I can tell it's in regen - examples are:
    If I am at a stop light, I will notice higher engine RPM.

    The engine sounds different - only usually noticeable if I am outside
    the truck, like when I arrive home and open to door for some reason before shutting off the engine.

    It will smell hot if I am out roaming around the truck when hooking up a trailer, etc.

    When on the highway, I will see the AVG MPG start to go in the toilet.

    I have had various Edge Insight engine monitors, they all tell me when the DPF regen cycle is happening.
    Without fail, the truck will regen once during every tank of fuel.

    I've never had it regen more frequently than that.

    Nothing I am worried about but first time I have seen this in 7 years owning the 2 diesels.

    ^ this regens are negligible for fuel mileage. worrying about 2% drop in economy while towing a 9 ton box.

    If I get 12.8 mpg during a burn and 18 mpg highway driving between burns and if:
    I can go 657 km between burns my average fuel economy would be 17.7 mpg.

    I can only go 300 km between regens my average mileage would be 17.4 mpg.

    So the regen is only affecting my mileage by 2% - 4%.

    I haven't paid much attention to how often a regen takes place on my truck but I'll clock it this time.

    The last time my truck did a regen I reset the trip odometer. It took 43 km to complete the burn and the truck got 18.3 l/100 km at a steady 100 km/h.

    Edit:
    18.3 l/100 km = 12.8 mpg (US)

    The way to get egt's very hot is too inject raw fuel into the hot exhaust. It doesn't take long from the time a regen starts till you see the % dpf to begin dropping. If it drops to 60% and stopping at a stop sign interupts the burn the computer doesn't reinitiate the burn till the filter reaches 100% clogged again. Judging by the way the system is programmed it seems obvious that getting the dpf down to 0% clogged is not very important.

    As RPMs go up, EGTs decrease. So locking out OD or top gear will not work.

    Yes you and I chatted regarding the % screen before and my dealer could not do it. I may have to call Olds like you did and have it set up.

    I recall reading that DEF will freeze at about -11. It does have the heater element and I park in an insulated attached garage in winter. When it is -30 outside my beer does not even freeeeeeeeeeeeze!

    I've read my Chevy truck manual from cover to cover several times now and it talks about the Regen happening. Says it's suppose to do it at certain speeds, and after so long, yadda, yadda, yadda. It warns about driving too slow and regin not occuring correct or pre-empting it by stopping the engine.

    For all I know, it could be regenerating every 100 miles? This is one of those "things" I just never understood about my truck. It drives fantastic, no complaints, and tows like a monster! Wonderful truck, just can't say how often mine does that? I have no clue.
