30amp to 15amp adapter

Just use a large gauge extension cord to reduce voltage drop.

This is the one I use for my RV parked in the driveway at home plugged into my 20amp house outlet.

That is for a Twist Lok connector. Your RV needs one like this Straight 30 amp female to standard 15 amp male

The one you suggested won't work. Many Walmarts have the correct type of adapter but they could be of a different manufacturer. Any of them will work.

As long as you are merely charging the circuit, most grounded extension cords would be fine. If you plan to draw more power, you’ll likely an RV type extension cord to be large enough. The bonus is that you could use it even if there is a 30 amp circuit. You’ll also be surprised to find out that many relatives have a 30 amp circuit from the previous owners.

Test the polarity of the home outlet before you use it. Extension cords don’t need to be the best. They need to be of sufficient size (gauge) based on amps and distance.

You can buy the adapter at Walmart in the RV section. Make sure you get the correct adapter that converts from the RV to the extension cord. They also sell the adapter to adapt from the 30 amp campground pedestal down to a 20 amp 120 v cord.

Using the household extension cord to the RV will allow yo to power pretty much everything except the air conditioning.

No problem doing that with the right adapter.. Just know you can't run everything on it at the same time... So, if you want to run the micro, you might not want to have your coffee maker going, or other high amp draw appliance running at the same time. No A/C, etc..

I run my fridge and WH on propane if I'm only connected to a 15-20a plug. Then I'll run the micro and coffee maker, but not at the same time. Watch TV and all of course.. Just gotta know you don't have your full 30a cap.

If you have a twist lock that dogbone one will work.If it is not then a dogbone Like This is what you need.Do Not use a puck one like this quoted below, they will over heat and melt,I know from experience........you want a good heavy dogbone type and a good extension cord like I referenced before.

Just one thing add. If your house outlet is on a GFCI, It or the one in your RV will trip. It is common that 2 GFCI do not play well together. Simple solution would be to turn off the circuit breaker that powers the RV GFCI.

If you can use the 30amp cord with at 20amp adapter like this. I ran almost 2 weeks on one in WA state in a relatives driveway. I was able to run water heater & watch TV. Find out where the breaker is for the circuit your on, it did trip when wife forgot we were on limited power.
