Call me uniformed then.
I see no reason to diss others that don't like a screaming gas engine while on a nice quiet vacation or a all day long run.
I put over 1.2 million miles behind big block 460/454 one ton drw trucks pulling heavy GN trailers years back and to this day I can't take much constant high rpm engine noise from a screaming V8 gasser.
A 3/4 ton gas or diesel engine/same chassis/cab selections/drive trains can have about the same in the bed payload (rear axle/tires).
However comparing a gas vs diesel will be a apples vs oranges in towing duties.
The OP pulls 8k-9k lbs which any of the new gen gassers with the right gears/tranny would work fine.
