If you are like any and ALL other scapers I know of.....One is best off getting the heaviest chassis you can for the job or task. Do not ask HOW or WHY I know this. Especially since you will be putting an insert in the bed. That usually removes 1000-1500 lbs of payload. Of course you could just make the standard bed into a dump too! This works to a point for maintenance work. But if you do construction, a load of gravel, rockery rock, soil etc on the heavier side, will destroy the dump unit and bed it self. Flat beds are better options from this standpoint. Especially some of the recent designs using Starboard for the bed. That is a plastic lumber. Lighter and stronger than wood, will not rot etc. Altho a steel bed has advantages too!
IIRC from pricing out both models recently, you have one axel ratio option, 4.10, 4.10, or 4.10. With or with out the Eaton locker. Not sure why one would want one with out......that is another story. 4.33's would be my preferred option, even with the newer 6 sp with a 4.10 first gear vs 2.48 for the POS 4L80E derivatives.
From an RA standpoint itself.....frankly, either the 10.5 or 11.5 will work just fine. Have had both, no issues with either. Have blown up the 9.5 semi floating once. Have yet to blow up a 10.5 or 11.5!
