That's not true.

You can build heavy and 4 season - Northwoods Mfg
You can build light and 4 season - Lance

I'd put up my Lance 1685 TT against any Northwood Mfg product under any conditions. Just because something is made of wood doesn't make it more insulated.

As a matter of fact, 2 layers of Azdel offer more insulation properties than R-7 house insulation by far! Couple that with 2" block foam insulation and you've got insulation galore. Lance has dual pane windows, heated enclosed holding tanks and insulated gate valves, etc etc.

With a 5.3 engine, I would not suggest the Northwood family of trailers. They are great, but heavier than I think you would be happy with. Pay particular attention to your hitch weight rating & do the math with your loaded truck.

Lite & 4 season, not made. One or the other

I cant speak for the smaller trlrs that KZ makes but my Sportsmen though not being a 4 season trlr does just fine. We use it regularly through the winter in temps in the teens and i have been in it at -12 and everything worked. I guess it comes down to how extreme of weather you want to use it in.

My wife and I are in the same position as you. We love our Casita, but we need more space and want the ability to camp in cold weather. We are looking very closely at the Nash 23F and 24M. The 24M is nearly identical to the 23F, but is slightly longer and has a slide. We also like the 23D. We have done a lot of shopping around and we like the Northwood products. Arctic Fox is a terrific product, however they are heavy and pricy. Unless you look at the 22H and G, a 3/4 tow vehicle is needed for a comfortable towing experience! Good luck, Bob.

Casita has no R value insulation so not really a caparison in the R-16 Oliver. The archives have many threads on condensation solutions. Good luck on your trailer hunt :)

By pure chance, the other night I fell across an internet ad for a local dealer with tremendous discount on a 2013 Ever-Lite S25FB.

I did a Google search and found that, while a number of US dealers also have this now discontinued model on clearance, all were at least $2K higher in the asking price. Its unheard of for Canadian RV dealers to have lower pricing than their US counterparts. We also save the currency exchange which is currently about 5%.

After checking the specs on this model it was quickly apparent that it should fill the bill nicely, with all laminated block foam insulation, Thermal pane windows and fully enclosed underbelly with insulated and heated tanks & valves. Some RV forums research for owner reviews produced all positive feedback.

Although the salesman, who we have been acquainted with for about 10 years, was adamant that the "clearance" pricing was already discounted to the max, so there was nothing further to give, we managed to get them knock off a few bucks more and throw in a power tongue jack, dual 6 volt batteries and cabinet doors and hardware for the ends of the dinette seats so we won't have to lift the cushions and seat base to access the storage under. They will also store it until we can take it. I don't have a "Mc" in front of my surname for nothing!

We now have to get busy ordering the parts to upgrade our Anderson hitch to suit the Ever-Lite as well as GMC OE towing mirrors to replace the OE standard mirrors which were all that were required for the Casita We also have to take photos of the Casita, including detailing all the mods we have incorporated, for ads on the classifieds on both Casita forums, FGRV.com and FGRV4sale.com

"We are looking to replace our Casita as, despite many mods (read $$) to make it more comfortable, DW isn't happy with it, primarily with the lack of space, the wet bath and the condensation in even just cool weather.

IMHO Escape & Oliver will have the same problems
