If you haven't seen any LS motor testing you need to check it out. Literally days at WOT with no issues. 6 bolt mains. They are designed to run that high for a long time. Your motor is based off the original LS1 that debuted in 1997 in the Corvette. The trucks received the LS series of engines in 1999, GM still calls them VORTEC for marketing, but there is nothing VORTEC about them.
Since 1997 it has only been updated and improved upon. 4500 rpm is day one stuff for these engines. Plenty of them out there now with over 250,000 to 300,000 trouble free miles on them. Pulling, racing and being beat upon.
In other words put it on the floor and don't worry unless you need gas... :)
