I always cringe when I see some fool lugging up a grade at 35 with his flashers on. If he would have bought enough truck/RV (or not overloaded the one he has), in the first place or would simply put his foot into the one he owns the problem (him), would disappear in a blaze of safer driving. Yes it burns more fuel but opting to save a couple of bucks at the expense of everyone else's safety is simply not an option. :R
It drives me nuts to come around a corner on a 2 lane in the mountains climbing a 4-7% grade an hit someone with a small trailer doing 35 to 45, back to 35 and then up to 45. I constantly watch my review for the folks doing the 65 mph speed limit, and all too often then don't realize how slow the jack-wagon ahead of me is going. I'll pay 2 more bucks a hill and be safe.
Tell that to the semi driver who rear ended another semi on I-65 last Tue. North of Louisville and closed the road down for 6 hours. He run his semi into the back of the other one clear up to his sleeper. He survived I know not how. Oh and I have yet to see a two lane mountain road with a 65 mph limit.
