Wow, $100 every 5,000 or 8,000 miles? That makes it way more expensive than the roughly $130 I would pay every 15,000 miles IF I had the dealer change my oil.
Driving an electric car would be so much cheaper. Better yet, riding a bicycle.
Well an electric car or riding a bicycle never get compared to the cost of a Cummins Turbo diesel like I here the 6.4L guys do in the forums all the time.
Yes diesel fuel is higher, but the fuel mileage difference makes it to where it is either the cost per mile is the same or the diesel is slightly less.
Yes the initial cost of a diesel is more, but most of that will be recovered in resale or trade in.
Yes the maintenance cost a little more for a diesel, but you don't have to perform maintenance on it as often bringing the total cost down.
I just don't see the cost benefit while having less pulling power and capability is all so why they are compared all the time is beyond me.
I bought the Hemi instead of the Cummins because it's what I wanted and it suits my needs. That's all the reasoning I need. I am a big fan of the Cummins diesel, and the Powerstroke, and the Duramax. But, I chose the Hemi. In case you failed to read my sig, I have been a diesel owner for a decade before this Hemi.
