IF you are certain that you will be staying with a tt and not upgrading to a heavier 5er, any 3/4 ton truck should be immensely more capable than the 2.7 f-150. There are some on here with 5.7 rams with bigger trailers and going full time, they dont always go fast but they roll.
The 6.4 should be more than capable for what you ask, up to about a 12000 lb trailer, at that point it starts getting to always diesel range, and yes, I know some on here will tell you that you need a diesel dually for pulling a popup. But if your truck has payload and tow capacity of more than 25% above what you are doing, it's generally going to be well capable.
