I have had both and I am now very happy with the 6.4L gas towing 38' trailer 9-10K lbs. I chose the 4:10 rear. Prior I had a 2012 Cummins. Was it better towing? sure it was, but I really only noticed the difference on long interstate grades where the diesel would pull it faster. Around town and empty I actually like the gas truck better. Ultimately that is the only difference I feel is getting from point A to point B a bit faster when towing. Other than camping I personally had no other need for the diesel so I went gas this time and love it. Easier maintenance, was much less expensive etc. If I had money to burn sure I wood go diesel, but dont be scared to pull with gas. Gas trucks today have plenty of power and torque from all brands.
