It appears to be true, just keep in mind that they have nothing to lose and a lot to gain when people throw away good spark plugs. From what I hear from people who try it most plugs now are good for well over 100,000 miles. From what I hear even dealers like to do a lot more maintenance than the makers call for. I have been in two service bays recently with signs posted that they recommend oil changes every 5,000 miles regardless of maker recommendations that are sometimes double that. As with the plugs, they have nothing to lose and a lot to gain.
Agree. When I had mu 12 CTD the lady at the counter would try and get me to do unnecessary maintenance when I was paying for oil changes. I said they weren't due yet and her reply was "We recommend it" I gave here thumb forefinger money rub sign. End of that conversation.
