I have the same EVIC system and there's no magic algorithm on my truck that gives it 0.1 accuracy. My EVIC on my nearly 9000lb DRW CTD easily shows 22-24 mpg average HWY and I'll tell you those #'s are just silly. Just coasting HWY "instantaneous" shoots it to 99 mpgs and its easy to skew the overall reported average. Real hand calculated HWY mpgs are 18 mpg, not 22-24. Not slamming the 6.4 gasser on mpgs, just the EVIC and it's accuracy :B
It shows 99mpg because it cuts fuel to ZERO. And most EVIC readout, GM HD trucks excluded, are more accurate than most people are at math.
