6.4L Hemi mpg report

Long weekend here in the Great White North. Towed the 5er out to a local campground. One way is about 70 miles. Conditions were ideal, no wind not needing AC, flat terrain. 23L/100 km or 10.22 mpg hand calculated. Ran in 5th at 2200 rpm at 70 mph with cruise control the whole way. Pretty happy with that.

5er was fully loaded including full fresh water and 4 bikes. Truck was fully loaded with 2 adults 3 kids and a 100# golden retriever. I'm going to say just under 20k GCW.

Typical mpg towing is about 8 mpg but apparently I can get 10 mpg when in ideal conditions.

    yes I was 2.6 km/h over the 110 km/h limit. Naughty I know. :)
  • Thanks for the report! I've wondered how I'd do towing, MPG-wise, with my 6.4L Ram.
  • Excellent! How many miles on the Ram?

As I had mentioned in a previous thread, I was going to look for a 6.4 Ram but the deal I got on my Cummins was hard to beat. Reading your reports I will recommend the 6.4 to my dad, he is in the market for a new Ram this year.
