Would expect it to do fine with the trailer you list, but have to ask,,,,, why the change?
If diesel prices are the driving reason, don't expect a gasser to save much money, MPG will drop, offsetting the reduction in per gallon cost.
Trade in value recovery of initial cost of your Duramax will not be as great now as a year ago because the extra fuel cost are already having an impact on the used market.
And just as it was 8-10 years ago, regime change in DC will happen, and circumstances will AGAIN change.
