The emissions problem’s with the modern diesel is a pain!Fuel cost has nothing to do with my thinking.
Dan - camperfamilyExplorerAgree with Busdriver. Emissions are crazy on modern diesels. When something breaks (not if) it gets expensive really fast. Love the performance of the diesel (whichever brand flavor you like) but my next truck will be a gas version.

- wanderingaimlesExplorerWould expect it to do fine with the trailer you list, but have to ask,,,,, why the change?
If diesel prices are the driving reason, don't expect a gasser to save much money, MPG will drop, offsetting the reduction in per gallon cost.
Trade in value recovery of initial cost of your Duramax will not be as great now as a year ago because the extra fuel cost are already having an impact on the used market.
And just as it was 8-10 years ago, regime change in DC will happen, and circumstances will AGAIN change. - Grit_dogNavigatorFish, you won the bet!
- DadoffourgirlsExplorerI had a 2020 Reg cab Dually with the 6.6 gas. I towed 15k+ of round hay bales on a gooseneck trailer. No problems. I towed my 10k travel trailer without problems. I also towed my trailer to Iowa and back with an Express with the 6.0, and 3.42 rear axle.
