This is a bad pipe design to begin with. You have plastic molded pieces that are couple to an aluminum throttle body on top of the engine just in front of the turbo. After many heat cycles, the plastic tubing of the CAC pipe gets weak and bursts under boost. Rodney's truck did it around 45k and mine around 21-22k miles. I'd been prepared since Rodney's blowout was only a week or so from us going to meet him and others in Wisconsin Dells last summer. I'd ordered mine the day following his ordeal. Rock on to last fall and we are going camping about an hour away and on I-85 climbing a hill when there was a loud bang and the engine would not boost. I knew what the problem was so I coasted to the side of the interstate, got the pipe out of the truck, and changed it in around 15 minutes. Of course, I had to send Rodney a couple of pics from the roadside and carnage done to the pipe, or I'd been done a bit faster.
