The 2012 Cimmins el not need DEF, just look at the Ford forum and the Cummins forum, I think you will find the answer. I switched from Ford to Dodge, to get a Cummins for a reason. Truck has 260,000 miles and still pulling an 11,000 5er up big hills at 55 to 60 on two lane roads.
The Cummins 6.7 has been around since 2007.5, long before the Ford 6.7 lots more history on the Cummins.
