Can't speak personally from experience on the ford/ram engine/transmission - But the reason I traded to a 2011 Chevy 3500HD SRW - more GVWR 11,600 on the 2011 VS 9900 in my old 2005.

I would go with the ford - more GVWR and the 6.7 looks like a good engine compared to the previous power strokes.
