I'm a Ford guy. Not blue kool-aid drinking though. I had a 7.3 Ford, and recently a 6.7 Ford. Our camping group has all three in multiple flavors each. The Chevy and Ford guys both commented that a '13 RAM 2500 rode hard. Everyone likes their trucks, and they all get the campers to the destination.
For my money I'd go with the 1 ton Ford. More payload capacity over the RAM. Simple as that. Past that, they are both great trucks and you have a tough choice to make. Drive both and put your cash on the one you like. Remember to consider warranty, payload, fuel economy in your decision making. Also projected resale value.

I thought it was kinda odd the OP was comparing a 1 ton against a 3/4 ton.
