- mudfuel07ExplorerI don't think you will regret it. I have had no issues with mine.
- Showme_5vrExplorerI want to thank those of you that have replied. It appears that when ordering a 2023 RAM 3500 SRW Crew Cab long bed that the HO upgrade is now almost $4000 more not the $2800 it was for the 2022 model year. So we have gone with the regular 6.7L Cummins Diesel.

Lets see, GM went to the Desmo pump as the CP-4 pain was to much for them. RAM reversed back from the two years of CP-4 failures. Saw a new 5500 with 9,500 miles with failed CP-4. Guess who still uses the CP-4?
Here is a picture of the 5500 being unload at RAM dealer.
We now know the CP4.2 pump doesn't tolerate air in the fuel especially after a fuel filter change and guess who didn't use a lift pump?
Cummins used a asymetrical CP4.2 pump and they were failing like crazy and tried to switch to a symetrical pump but it was too late. Guess who doesn't use a asymetrical pump?
You can package a turd anyway you want and you've ultimately still got a turd. I wouldn't buy a vehicle with a CP4 in it. - FishermanExplorerYa well we all know about Fords. CP3's are now being switched out on a recall.

That depends on the year model and whether or not a CP4 injection pump is involved.
Well Ram decided to go back to the CP3, and issued a recall on all 2019 and 2020 Rams with the CP4 to replace with the CP3.

For model years 19 and 20 they were stupid and went with the CP4 and they realized it was a bad ides. They are replacing all of the pumps on every one of those trucks at no cost to the customer.
. - the1admanExplorerI have owned and towed 15K plus with both. The HO does it better and the Aisin is better loaded, but its not by a large margin. I think starting at 15K and above the HO makes more sense. Also my HO gets about 1-2 MPG less in most situations.
