Picked up the 6 volts today, they fit the box perfectly, yay! Wires long enough too. Wondering what special magic we can get out of these now. Going to the Michigan race and will be camping for 6 days. We have a genny we can top up with. Husband has a cpap and I think 6 days of camping without the humidifier might be a little long. Does anyone run their humidifier when they are dry camping? Even on a low temp?Thanks

If you can provide a wattage rating we can help. If you have a genny I'm not sure what you're worried about.

My wife runs hers, but we have a portable solar unit that tops off the batteries every day. Never ran out of "juice'!

6 days seems iffy even IF you don't add lights etc. Check the battery SOC in the morning to see the level of charge and decide. Hint: Even if you can go multiple days the battery remains discharged for those days and it's life will be shorter. Consider charging every morning.

I have the resmed 9s and I run the humidifier the same as I do in the house.

I got a passover humidifier and the actual CPAP machine uses very little current.bumpy

the cpap along w/o humidifier for 6 days is NOT much of a AH draw on the batteries. More than likely other things you do will dominate how long you can go.

I do run the humidifier when dry camping,

Get a volt meter if you don't have one. You can get a portable that plugs in to a 12v receptacle. Check the batts every morning and see if you need the jenny to prevent them from getting too low.

Been using a CPAP for over 15 years. I don't breathe through a humidifier all day, why would I need to at night?

No idea on CPAP energy use.

Since you will be charging by generator this is a good time to review the charging system. Some will have you 90+% in three hours where others may take ten+ hours. Post your converter or charging system model number for best comments.

I don't know anything about this CPAP machine. It sounds pretty important. Perhaps a battery backup of sorts should be considered. Similar to what many computer systems have.

But if it doesn't bother you then that's just another thing you don't have to mess with. I have a friend who does not use one either.

Because not everyone is the same.

I have recently developed a TERRIBLE problem with dry mouth and eyes at night.

I have my second appointment at a sleep clinic next week.
Since none of my doctors have been able to do anything except suggest ways to treat the symptoms, I'm hoping that a CPAP will do better than the other suggestions have.

I didn't need the humidifier either for about 20 years, but a few years ago I guess age caught up with me, and I started getting a bad case of dry mouth during the night, bad enough to wake me up. CPAP with humidifier cured it. Dry mouth was caused by the CPAP in combo with aging reducing saliva.

But not everyone needs the humidifier.
