Friday 6/27:
We went to Denver! My best friend lost his wife about four months ago. He's dealing but it's tough. We convinced him to fly out here for the weekend and went to Denver to pick him up. The drive was great!!! No TT!!! We did 80mph with the windows open, cool breeze blowing, radio blasting, the most beautiful scenery in the lower 48, 160 miles round trip and I still have 3/4 of a tank of gas left!!!
BF is not typically the outdoors type, to say the least. College Professor, Department Chair of Maths and Sciences, two Doctorates, one of them in physics.... You get the picture. ((Big Smile)) So far he's loving it! He was sitting in the van seat keeping rythem to the music. He couldn't get enough of the scenery! Introduced him to the camper, showed him the various rigs in the RV park. He chatted it up with a bunch of folks filled with questions about RVing! Questions like, "what's the wind displacement air to friction ratio?" Or "what's the center of gravity dissonance between the trailer and truck?" Amazingly, some knew the answers to his questions. He seemed to appreciate their answers more than he appreciated mine. He also provided them with useful information by writing down the mathematical formulas for figuring out the diminishing effect of lower oxygenation and the compensating factor of friction reduction... We took him to a great BBQ place for dinner, showed him around town, bought him an apple pie Avalanche at the frozen custard place. Gave him a blanket and a pillow for the pullout, and the three of us had an old fashioned slumber party talking to well after midnight..... Hell, it's 2:00 am and I'm writing to the TT forum. Nite Nite.
