If he gets butt hurt... oh well, he can custom build or "over" build his own rig. Just think of the amount of food it takes to sustain him, he can afford his own stuff.

I'm technically obese, just like some of the other posters: 6'-4" and 275 after a big lunch.

It didn't happen too often, but my use of the furniture/facilities, etc in my RV's (Thor, Keystone, KZ) would create accelerated wear.

I would question whether the Jayflight is the right thing to take to the Deer Lease, but would REALLY question whether it could stand being used by someone as big as your BIL.

Totally agree. This was what I was planning on saying while reading through this thread. It allows you to remain completky nuetral.

One vessel that I worked on had a Mate that was in the upper 300 pound range. The bucks were build out of 3/4" plywood with 2x4 supports underneath. This bunk was only about 30" wide and he broke it. Now it did take a couple of days but it still happened.

He did not want to tell me (the Chief Engineer) so he asked one of my Assistant Engineers for some wood to fix it. He did not know where to find some 6x4's so had told me.

In the five or six years that I worked with this guy he broke 2 large Pilot House Chairs ($1500 each) Six seats around the galley table ($200 each) and unknown number of office chairs (he used to order them 2-3 at a time). This guy would never admit that it was his weight breaking everything and got ticked off when my Captain told him he was going to put a heavy wooden bench in for him to sit on. He thought we were all picking on him.

I hope you can find some way to make it work out with your BIL but remember that in the end it's YOUR Trailer that might get broken.

Yeh, we have a family member that "may" have broke the previous sofa in the 19BH Jay Flight.

Not sure but the couch had a definite sag in the center. He was using it as a bed and sat on the edge while it was folded down in the bed position.

After it was replaced under warranty, we asked him not to sit on it at the edge. It never had a problem again. Not sure if it were him as the sofa had a few other issues and Jayco just decided to replace it.

We just happened to notice the sag weeks later after he joined us so we aren't sure if it were him. It was falling apart in other areas so it may have just been defective as it should had handled his weight per Jayco when I asked what the weight rating was on all furniture.

The newer sofas are made MUCH BETTER!

The dinette bed is only rated for 300 lbs so definitely don't use that!

If he just uses the seating areas for sitting and sleeps on the permanent beds (not upper bunk!!!), he should have no problem. Remember there are many very heavy campers out there. I'm in middle, over weight but not overly obese, I like to think. :D I've only broken a few of those inferior made 225# limit tent chairs. :D

My dad's old tt. Falling apart no air. I live in TX. Can be 90 degrees in December. I like to sleep clean and he is the sqimishy person you ever met, so want even walk in the old tt. I really dont care to sleep in it either.

What did you use at the deer lease before you got your Jayco? You could maybe not take your Jayco and you and the BIL rent a cabin or something nearby. If you insult your BIL this could cause more family problems then just saving a couch or a toilet.

I'm 6'2" and 325 lbs and no problem-O...lol lol
