- jfkmkExplorerCool! I love that show!
- burningmanExplorer III keep getting tempted to do a six-door myself, but going a step further and having a set of tandem rear duals. A ten-wheeler! I've got an '86 GMC 4x4 crewcab dually that I only rarely use, and an '83 Chevy crew cab dually parts truck. My buddy and I build show cars, we're capable of doing this.
I just keep asking myself what I'll ever do with it! It would be too long, too heavy, and all the extra cab space is meaningless to me because I almost never have more than two people in my truck.
But my buddy always says "yeah, but it would be cool!".
He's right...
Edit: and I'm sure the weight police guys would still claim you cannot alter the original factory weight rating, even after you've added an extra dually rear axle!! Oh yeah ya can. In fact, on big-trucks, it's done all the time, and the weight capacity goes up. Legally! - AnEv942NomadWas expecting a cabover verses chassis mounting a house trailer- didnt spend too much time on it. Too bad, most of the show seemed about silly mini-helicopter and sheared bolts "should we replace with grade 5 or grade 9?" Duh, is this a test?

Yeah, disappointed here too. They stretched the camper build into 2 parts while giving it very little time. After watching part 1 I wasn't motivated to watch part 2. - 2BLAZERSExplorerWe just DVR the show....cuts it down to tolerable. And my 2 year old likes the trucks.....
- jefe_4x4ExplorerThis show was a lot of fun, first season. They never show anyone doing anything, just yucking it up with sight gags. It has gotten more 'show-biz' yet this season. I'm wondering if the F-650 has an inflexible enough frame to NOT pull the camper apart on twisty ground. The Twisted Sister, Ford F-250 has one of the most flexy frames around. We did not see the details of how the trailer was attached to the truck frame: a 3 or 4 point pivoting mount? I suspect it was quick and dirty, just hard bolted down as they always keep the drama up with too little time to finish anything.
jefe - ihc120ExplorerThat just might be the perfect truck if your idea of expedition is to make the grueling trek to local car show display area.
- monkey44Nomad IIMost of those "reality" shows go far too slow, repeat what they already told you, twice, and spend more time talking to one another than 'working' ...
Discovery was once some great shows - but it seems now they all want to cut down the 'filming budget' so, repeat clips and turn a forty-minute show into a twenty-minute show. Have not seen this one specifically, but have noticed Nat Geo does the same thing - repeated monologues and film clips ever since Fox bought it. It becomes commercial instead of educational.
