I keep getting tempted to do a six-door myself, but going a step further and having a set of tandem rear duals. A ten-wheeler! I've got an '86 GMC 4x4 crewcab dually that I only rarely use, and an '83 Chevy crew cab dually parts truck. My buddy and I build show cars, we're capable of doing this.
I just keep asking myself what I'll ever do with it! It would be too long, too heavy, and all the extra cab space is meaningless to me because I almost never have more than two people in my truck.
But my buddy always says "yeah, but it would be cool!".
He's right...
Edit: and I'm sure the weight police guys would still claim you cannot alter the original factory weight rating, even after you've added an extra dually rear axle!! Oh yeah ya can. In fact, on big-trucks, it's done all the time, and the weight capacity goes up. Legally!
