That's good, I will probably change the fuel filter on mine once this tank of fuel is gone.

In my experience, diesel engines seem to handle long term storage better than gas.
The diesel fuel has a longer shelf life and will keep for years under the right conditions, although the newer diesel fuel doesnt seem to keep as long.

A gas engine will have fuel issues much quicker, usually much more than a year and the gas will turn to varnish and clog things up.

None at all. The filters were pretty black when I pulled them though.

Also; some of my gasoline equipment can sit for 11 months out of a year. I used to use Stabil but I haven't for over 15 years. The stuff starts up year after year so I quit using it.

Sounds like the filters would be worth a try.

NO surprise to me at all. My 5.7 diesel sat for 7 years without glow plugs in it. Put new glow plugs in it along with a new battery; glowed it twice and the thing lit off before I could get my hand off of the key. This was with 7 year old fuel. Idled perfect. My Case tractor sat for 3 years and the same thing happened. Lit right off. That's one thing I like about diesels.

The 7.3L is a great engine. I still kick myself for selling my 1996 F-250 7.3L that I bought new.

My case, not sure.glow plug setup is working completely. I have gotten it to fire 2-3 times per charge of batteries, but does not go more than 10-15 seconds. Hoping not a lift pump issue. It is an August 91 build.... so who knows. Or fuel filters are not letting enough.fuel thru...

I restore vintage motorcycles that have set for years. You will be surprised at how much sludge that builds up in a motor that has set over time.

The person that owned it before had just changed oil before the accident so it sat with clean oil. I will watch for any contamination and change. I will change transmission fluid in the 6 speed because I don't know if the shop used synthetic fluid and I want to flush it anyway.
