I'm trying to get hold of John Wood to discuss a rebuild on the 4R100. I would rather spend the money now and get full use out of it than have the transmission fail in 80,000 more miles and end up spending the money for the next guy's benefit.
I am not sure I understand your reasoning, is there something wrong with your transmission. I am not sure you are listening right, get the proper cooling, and gauge, and drive it. Why fix something that is not broke. I know guys towing heavy that have gone 300k with the stock 4R100. No reason not to if the transmission is kept from overheating, heat kills any transmission, and the stock transmission cooler on your truck will not get the job done towing heavy.
