7 Bros On The Mojave Road
Day 2, part 1

A velvet silky sheet of clouds gently strolling across the sky as the coming morning light painted colors of reds, pinks, yellows and white upon the floating canvas overhead.
Coyotes were not to be left out with their choir of high voices, serenading the morning Goddess her face has a scarlet glow from the attention.
The quietness is peaceful beyond words; birds early to rise enjoy this quiet while chasing insects for their morning meal. A slow stirring in our camp of desert travelers has started.
Wandering around I spied a structure nearby and some morning blooms.
Our camp became a busy hive of morning activity; Jeff was preparing breakfast this morning.
Several of the guy’s wander off to explore nearby and some are getting ready for today’s road adventure.
With everyone packed, John has the lead with Jerry riding shotgun.
Rey is second to follow, Jeff next and Alex brings up the tail end. Jeff makes the turn, but finds it too tight with the trailer and ends up doing a three-point maneuver to re-align his rig.
Back on Mojave Road Trail and into the thick of the Joshua’s Trees, some spot are a tight squeeze for Jeff and Alex.
We would take advantage of road signs to guide our way in this desert oasis.
The feeling of being out there much alone is easy to come by with hundreds of squares miles of opens space.
Rock Spring lies ahead a few miles while we thread our way through the Joshua Trees.
Cedar Canyon Road was ahead and a short run on it was necessary in order to pick up Mojave Road Trail again. This would take us to the Mojave Drop Dead V-Notch and into Watson Wash.

All of us made the descent in one piece and headed down to Watson Wash to Camp Rock Springs.
Jeff and Alex parked along the fence line while the others turn around to meet us here.
John and Matt checking a map, as the rest of us looked at the floating ice in this little pool.
Climbing further back I see the group gathering at the water hole.
Jerry got a surprise as two-desert rat’s zipped on by him.
Our next stop could be seen from Camp Rock Springs, The Rock House.
Driving back out of Watson Wash and onto Cedar Canyon Rd., Mojave Road Trail merged for several miles on this graded road.
At the Rock House, we wandered about.
Time to get moving
Government Hole was next on our list and close by.
Water was in the tank and could be use with some treatment. One of the guy’s was saying about a shootout that had occurred here with law enforcement that had happen not too long ago.
Kicking our trucks into gear, we made our way back, across the river wash on to Cedar Canyon Rd (Mojave Road Trail). Matt would continue on trekking with his two-wheel speed machine.
For once Matt couldn’t keep his lead on us, for Cedar Canyon Rd was a fairly smooth graded road.
A few miles down the road, we all pulled over for lunch and gave Matt a chance to catch up with us.
John and Jeff were looking at the Mojave Road Guide and realized that we weren’t too far from where the photo on the guidebook was taken.
It wasn’t long before a couple of motorcyclist speed on by and a park ranger stopped by to check us out, he was a pretty good guy.
Matt and John took off on their bikes to get ahead of us, it would be awhile before we caught up with them.
We watched the duo cyclist quickly gain distance from our stationary position as we packed it in.
