I sure am happy with my 2000 k3500 454. It is terrible on gas when not towing and is inline with other trucks claim on milage towing. I got mine three years ago from the original owners. That is how to buy a vehicle.
The reason I got the 1 ton is I could not find any 3/4 tons that were in good shape in my price range. Oddly the 1 tons were nicer and cheaper.
I see a lot of Fords out there in your price as well. Good luck. I know you will find one that works.
