Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but they still do make the suburban, and always did, side by side with the yukon xl.
He will probably clarify it in a bit. But he may be referring to the 3/4 ton Yukon XL. - JN_BExplorer

I agree a diesel would fit our life style as we full time and tow from coast to coast and border to border doing volunteering. This is our second Burb the first was an 02 1500 with the 5.2l the 08 has the 6l. Presently we have a combined weight of 14K and I have no complaints.

launchers, communications, agents, medical kits, and a huge ETC

How much does just the Suburban weigh?
Betcha they are close to GVWR and/or they have specially altered for higher
GVWR - MARK_VANDERBENTExplorerHaaaa good point !! They need to bring the 2500 burb back for secret service, FBI, DEA , and the list goes on. Being a suburban fanatic ! I would love to see a 2500 duramax !! suburban/Yukon xl

My wish list: A 2500 Suburban 8 spd w/ 4.5 Duramax, with 2500# payload and a 12k tow rating. I'd pre-order one of those right now!
Probably the only way we don't go Expy EL Ecoboost for our next family hauler is if GM makes this truck!
X2
I suspect that the only way we get to a 12k tow rating and proper hitch is if the Government starts towing 12k pound trailers while transporting the president.
I wondered how the Federal Government was going to survive without 2500 Suburbans. I thought it would be great to watch the president in a series of Black Prius with Blacked out windows. - BenKExplorerHopeful GM will, again offer the 2500 Sub to help continue the history of the
longest continual running automotive badge/model line in automotive history

Actually, it's a legit picture. It's taken in a hotel parking lot where GM always parks it's vehicle during high altitude testing in Silverthorne, CO. It's a hotel parking lot and that's as "hidden" as you can get in that area.
Yeah, know the area well...it's about 1 hour from where I live.
I'm not really questioning if the picture was taken up there, just questioning spied vs. staged...not that it really matters though. :) - PDX_ZsExplorerDammit.
Just not a GM guy, but this would definitely make us kick the Expedition to the curb.
Hey Ford. Best hustle that new Excursion up! - MARK_VANDERBENTExplorerGM already owns 75% of full size suv market. This would definitely bring that number higher.
