99 Sierra 2500 6.0 / 8500lb fiver
Would my current old pickup be good enough to tow a 8500lb fifth wheel? The truck has 160000mi and runs great. 4.10 gears w/285 tires/6.0 gas/ extended cab-short box. Looking at a 2007 314bhs keystone...

The older 6.0s with the 4speed were not a great setup for towing. I had an 02 and was never impressed with its pulling power or lack there of. If towing on level ground it will do the job but pulling any hills youll be spending a lot of time in 2nd gear pulling 5500RPMs all while getting 6-7mpg. Not a great towing experience IMO.
