I've never seen a vehicle that listed the towing capacity on any sticker. There may be some out there but I've never seen it.

DITTO. I've been around GM vechiles all my life. The door sticker indicates GVWR, but nothing about "tow rating"

It's not. Brake controller pre-wire didn't exist until the next generation body style.

I am looking for a new mechanic to check out what I missed, but the brakes are high on my list to be looked at. The brakes are very stiff, to the point where sometimes I feel I might have to use both feet to push the pedal. On the drive home I just gave plenty of distance and drove slower around cross roads. I can tell looking at the brake fluid reservoir that it needs to be flushed. I would like to get the lines swapped out at the same time because it looks like the ones on there are probably the originals.

Tomorrow I get to look this thing over in the daylight :) It had apparently been wired for the 7 pin by a previous owner, so I am still tracking down what they did exactly.

We have our maiden voyage scheduled to Fort Wilderness next month... Can't wait to see how she does :)

Great truck, very similar to the one I just sold. It should have a Eaton locking rear end, which will help since it's a 2x4. The 3:73 will help with fuel. Mine had the 4:10 and it was painful. About 6.5 mpg towing.

X2 on everything BenK said about the brakes. Front lines are cheap and install quick and make a big difference.

Well we ended up with a '98 C2500 454 with 3.73 rear and 166k miles. After being sniped 3 times over the weekend by quicker buyers I pounced as soon as the ad hit craigslist today... 4 hours after listing it was sold :) It's in remarkable condition. The driver seat has minimal wear, and the rear seat was missing (we don't need it anyway).

Well I may or may not be in luck... I found a '96 454 down the street. I'll be going to look during my lunch break. We'll see how bad it is :)

Edit: It was in super shape for $2k... Only needed a paint job and new tires. The new owners will like it because it sold right before we got there :S

find a sub like mine haha 2900lb payload, quad buckets, g80, and sun roof. They are out there but expect to pay 12 to 16k w 100k on the odo.

My ratings and should be same/similar to that Sub you are looking at

FGAWR........4,250
RGAWR........6,000
GCWR.........16,000
CURB............5,400 - 6,000
Actual.............7,200...with me (180), toolbox (+200), misc (apprx..50-75)


MTWR......10,000.....meaningless unless that Sub actual weight is 6,000

I don't have access to the vehicle. If it's not sold yet I should be checking it out on Saturday.
