This Towing Guide to get you pretty close. It's for 99's but they should be the same.
Looks like the trailer rating is 7500 lbs max.
The issue is the 350 chevy. To put it in perspective that truck has 30 less HP and 5 lb ft of TQ than the 2014 4.3 chevy V6 base motor in the new silverado.
It's a great motor, just underpowered by today's standards.
IMHO, spring for the 454. You get 10,000 lb tow rating and plenty of power from a gasser. Plus the mpg shouldn't be that different between the 454 and the 350.
Thanks and good luck!

I did run across that, but it had me confused. 7500 lbs would do just nicely, except I think it has the 4 speed auto that says it would be 6000 lbs :h Our trailer GVWR is 6900 lbs, and it weighs just under 6k lbs which is why I was concerned.
I finally found a copy of the owners manual for that year and it does say 7500 lbs without any mention of transmission. I'm so used to seeing the big charts with the various combos.
The 454 would be nice of course, but there's not a ton of these around, and the selection of vehicles in the price range I'm focused on is a bit limited :( We won't be swapping TTs for a larger unit anytime soon... So as long as the 350 can chug us along safely, I think it will be OK :)
Thanks!
