A Couple of Step Questions

We are in the process of looking at new Northstar 850 popup truck campers. The campers on the lot do not have any steps on them yet. If we have the dealer install the 5 step sissor steps, how will these work when the camper is dropped at the campsite and lowered for stability??? Or is there a better, more versitle step out there??
  • Thanks for the replys. I know the TorkLift will work while on the truck, but how will they work at a much lower height while the camper is off the truck and lower to the ground.
  • Ditto on the TorkLift.

I have a set on my 5th wheel and love them. I am sure they will work just as well on a truck camper.

    TorkLift Step
  • The Torklift scissor steps work well. The landing gear make it even more stable.

Of course, the steps have to be mounted to the TC to use when the it is unloaded so any solution that goes into the hitch won’t work.
  • I bought the 850 SC a few months ago. I have not tried the five step sissor steps, I thought that was too much "work" to get in/out. So I bought these from etrailer. Lowe's had some anti-slip strips that fit perfect depth wise, only had to trim the width. They are positioned just right to make it as easy as it can be.
