Interestingly, mu cousin is driving here from Chicago in his Tesla (think it's a model 3, it's the SUV with the gull wing doors). Anyway he sent me a message. Seems as though the cold has an adverse effect on juice usage. He's had to charge it twice (at Supercharging Stations) already. Of course it's free but, not for me.
Told him he can plug it in when he gets here, I have 220 in the shop....lol
I hold a dim view of electric cars or trucks. All phooey. Expensive fooey. His was around 150 grand.
Could not agree more, boutique vehicles with limited range - GrooverExplorer II

That certainly is impressive acceleration. What would really be great to know is whether it can tow a load up a long, steep grade without derating or overheating, or destroying battery life and range.
Hard to say. I would imagine these e-trucks will initially target the half ton crowd as it is the biggest market. Maybe shoot for a 7000 8000 pound tow capacity. Who knows.Groover wrote:
It shows an impressive amount of power but my first reaction is that they were probably not using the type of tires that I would want on a Model 3, much less a pickup. A 3 second run generally requires racing tires that are too expensive for road use.
Could be. They don’t mention tires.
A model 3 uses stock 20’s that come with the performance model for its 3.1 run. I’ve driven that car. Phenomenal.
I think a model S is 2.7 seconds with stock tires. Or less.- GrooverExplorer IIIt shows an impressive amount of power but my first reaction is that they were probably not using the type of tires that I would want on a Model 3, much less a pickup.
