I opted for the dorm fridge. Remember, you can't get much into a small one. If I was building for a family, I would get one of the newer Samsung's, the 10^ft. that use about the same amount of power.
My reasons for going to the electric fridge were economy (no propane), ease of use, safety, and no parasitic electrical draw. I figured that if I don't want to power it, I can stick a couple blocks of ice (frozen water jugs) inside and cool down the box for travel. I had the addition of solar charging on my "essential list" before I started restoring so I knew I would come close to adequate power for the fridge. The little dorm fridge draws 80w in operation with a turn on amperage cycle of less than 6 amps. The duty cycle is about 1/4 in typical ambient temps. The fridge is my #1 electrical draw and one 235 w module with 320 AH of batteries keep it running. I use a Xantrex 1000w Pure Sine inverter to power it when not on shore power.
If money isn't an object, the 12v compressor fridges are an even better solution.
Heads up: Cover up your drains, stick a rag in them or tape a cover on. You don't want the fumes and you don't want to fish out a bunch of debris.
