You both make good points. Personally I would have verified that I got the correct item under warranty exchange before I even left the dealership.
Either way, 6.5 years for a battery isn't bad.
Mine (2) are still OEM over 7 yrs. old and I expect them to last several more yrs. I do routine maint. on them just like the over 7 yr. old OEM batteries in my 5vr
