AC control thermostat
I assume that most rooftop AC units in TC's are controled by the knobs on the AC inside up at the ceiling. With this type of control you turn on the fan to lo or hi and select either ac or no ac. Then set the temp knob. Then as it cools the built in thermostat shuts off the comperssor and cooling but the fan keeps going.
So is it possible to have the wall thermostat (if dual type) that controls the heating also control the AC unit?
I surmise that it may require the use of relays and such as the voltage may not be able to pass thru the wall thermo to operate the AC. But if this is doable the wall would/could shut off the fan as well when the temp has dropped...so set the AC unit to HI FAN AND MAX COOL then let the wall control it. Or any combo on the AC unit like LO FAN and MAX COOL. I already have a dual (AC and HT) household type thermo as the RV style croaked and I replaced it on the HT side obviously.
So anyone done this? You electric gurus, this is your time to shine!!!
THX for your input.
