And you would be right until you mentioned you were switching over to a 12 volt fridge. I have a 12v Danfoss compressor fridge in my camper and it draws 4-5 amps when running and, as mentioned, in summer time it runs a lot. As long as you have sunny days your 200 watts of solar will probably be able to top off the battery each day. But throw a cloudy day in there and you'll be running the genny. If that's okay with you...
It would not bother me to run the generator now and then. I totally understand the wisdom of a second battery and I may go that route. The only reason I am looking at skimping is because at this time we don't get out that much. We also usually have shore power at night. I will probably go out once and try it and see what I come up with.
They are shipping me my Nova Kool Monday. Should have it by the end of the week!
