A/C ducts

Can access to the a/c ducts be gained by removing the shroud on the roof? I have four a/c vents and two have good air circulation in the rear of the trailer and two are not blowing any air at all in the front of the trailer. The vents at the a/c unit are closed. Checked for any obstruction and leak from within the trailer. Not sure how to access the ducts at the a/c unit itself. Thanks for the help. By the way, TT is a 2014 Kodiak.
  • May need to remove both of above mentioned, and use a light and mirror to look for obstructed run to vents. Of course if you have a fancy lighted camera, that extends into the vents, would be best option.

  • I've had the piece that was hole sawed out of the ceiling stuck in the a/c ceiling vent. Anything goes with quality control in the rv industry.
  • There are several videos on YouTube addressing the AC loss by checking the unit from inside. They all seem to tape and smooth corners and crannies that are not installed correctly.
Then I would try the old fish tape and flashlight search and seizure of junk in the ducts.
At the ends of the ducts, some folks place a block of sorts to stop all movement of air past the furthest opening. Some say the ducks just open into the ceiling cavity. I did that and it seemed to improve air flow into the bedroom area in a Keystone product.
Whoooo knows? You might find a treasure up there.

I have done this an our last three Jaycos and it has helped. Also took out all of the ceiling vents and wrapped Gorilla tape around the upper cone and put them back in. That seemed to help also.
