Accelerating my brake controller applies the trailer brakes

Has anyone ever seen this before... I have an Hopkins Insight Flex controller (HM47297). It works as it should when applying the brakes, numbers as high as 45/55, however when I accelerate I see th...

If your brake lights are not on then only the controller can be bad. Without the brake lights it should never apply the brakes.
But I would have someone follow me to see if the lamps stay on when you pull away. Sometimes a mis-adjusted or failing brake lamp switch will cause the lights to stick.
