Adapter sleeve for 2 1/2 receiver

"adapter sleeve" is ratted for what?

Etrailer sells one but I believe it reduces the package from Class 5 to Class 4.

I don't know of a rating but a caution on the sleeve says do not use with distribution type hitches. Not sure why because it pulls fine.

I picked one up at Tractor Supply.

Tractor Supply unit rated for? And is that sufficient?

If it fails...you lose...cuz you used a product outside of its intended use, heard the warning and disregarded. And it will probably pull fine...until it fails...then you lose. Trust me, Lao didnt know anything about RVs or attorneys.

I used one with my truck/trailer for the first season I had it. Found there was way too much slop. Got a 2.5 inch shank and I am much happier with the tow.

The adjustment holes on my shank are 1" apart. The link you gave me for etrailor shows a lot of choices but these adjustment holes are all 1 1/4" apart.

Seems odd as all the 2" shanks are also 1.25" hole spacing.
I suggest calling them tomorrow but really a 2.5" shank would be the way to go.

Contact WD manuf for recommended solution? surely you're not the only one with this "problem"?

I tried using my Fiat sleeve with my old shank, and it was sloppy as Joe. Ordered a new 2.5" shank and it's also super sloppy. Either Fiat has trouble converting from metric to imperial units, or the shank manuf. is just lazy with their quality control. Asked the retail why so sloppy? Their response, oh, we sell a number of products to help with that. *rolls eyes*

I eventually got used to the slop and no longer freak out when I feel/hear the shank banging away now and then.
